Licence fees are calculated based on how the art work is going to be used. The information we require includes the following:

The print or production run
The size of the image
The retail sales price if applicable
where the work is going to be reproduced (i.e for a publication – the cover, editorial, spine etc).
Applying for a Licence
To apply for a licence to reproduce an artistic work please first check that the artist is represented by IVARO. A list of our current members is available on our Members page. For foreign artists please contact us to check if they are represented by IVARO. If IVARO represents the artist/s then you may submit a licensing request by downloading the following form:
We require that all reproduction requests are accompanied by a digital layout of how the work is intended to be used. For example if the artwork was to be used on the cover of a book we will need to see the draft layout of the cover before granting permission.
The usual turnaround for obtaining a licence is 10 days.
Our guide to copyright licensing is available to view here :
IVARO also participates in the photocopying scheme under which books, magazines and newspapers are copied in educational institutions (operated by the Irish Copyright Licensing Agency).
Through these licences, schools and third level colleges are permitted to photocopy visual works which have already been published in books and journals.
IVARO will distribute these licensing fees annually to artists through our new RETURN service.
